I've found a new timesink (as if I needed another one).

It's a roguelike game called T.O.M.E. - basically it's an angband variant which has been adapted to have an overarching plot based on The Lord of the Rings.

If you have an ofdoom account, it's installed on there, just run tome to start it.

As an aside, the port file for tome was a good example of what not to do. While it took the WITHOUT_X11 flag, and that flag did disable the X version of the game, it did not turn on the tty version (disabled by default due to b0rked curses libraries in RedHat, and the resulting confused clueless users), nor did it actually remove the dependency on X. So, it resulted in a useless version of the application that refused to run, and still had all of the bloat associated with X.

It took a bit of work, but I got a nice clean working build that works fine over a ssh session.
